He tried to interrupt her, but she plowed on. "Aren't you ever at home, sore and tired and just completely frozen by all the things people expect from you, and it makes you want to give up?" She had to stop as a tidal wave rose in her heart and lungs, as anxiety ate her every cell and dropped from her throat to her stomach, making her choke and feel sick. She recognized the fear as it spiked through her brain and infused itself into her blood. She tried to calm her quaking heart to no avail and it quailed as she thought of what her unchecked emotions could mean for her family, friends, for Paris. Fuck.
