World of Light is a story mode full of potential, unfortunately not as well handled as the Subspace Emissary mode in Brawl. A thing that it could improve it, I thought, it would be a few animations showing interactions between the fighters when they free new ones from Galeem/Dharkon's corruption. Some charachters may have more variants, as World of light doesn't have an order, but some others will have only one (the ones who are obligatory to continue the path). I'll start with the charachters involved in SSBU without the DLC's, maybe then I will add them too.

Many years ago the kingdom of the peaceful mushroom people was invaded by the tyrannical King Koopa and his tribe of turtles famous for their black magic. The quiet, peace-loving Mushroom People were turned into mere stones, bricks and even field horsehair plants, and the Mushroom Kingdom fell into ruin. The only one who can undo the magic spell on the Mushroom People and return them to their normal selves is the Princess Toadstool, the daughter of the Mushroom King. Unfortunately, she is presently in the Human world as she was taken there as a young child. Mario and his brother Luigi, the unlikely heroes of the story set out on a quest to free the Mushroom Princess from the evil King Koopa who kidnapped her and restore the fallen kingdom of the Mushroom People.

But when a couple of bullies pick on Toadette and feel that she may not be able to be good enough as a racer, she begins to lose hope and give up. Will Toad and the others be able to find a way to encourage Toadette to gain confidence and have faith in herself? Does Toadette truthfully have the heart of a champion like Toad says she does?
