With the assistance of Mushroom Kingdom resident Toad and some training from the strong-willed ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach, Mario taps into his own power and Sonic learns new tricks with his powers, the origins of the Chaos Emeralds, the truth about his past, and how he ended up in Longclaw's care. Ailsa Kong is a female humanoid gorilla and Donkey Kong's childhood friend turned wife. She is a princess, known for her sweet, kind, and caring nature. Ailsa despises bullies and stands up against them whenever she encounters them. She is fiercely loyal to Donkey Kong and is deeply in love with him. However, Donkey has a tendency to become jealous when other males are near her or show interest in her, as she values her relationship with Donkey Kong above all else. While Ailsa possesses admirable qualities, she also has a few fears and dislikes. She is afraid of deep water and heights, which can make her uncomfortable in certain situations. Despite these fears, she remains determined and pushes past her limits when necessary. Ailsa's love for Donkey Kong is a central aspect of her character, driving her actions and motivations throughout the story.

The story follows an origami girl named Oakley. Oakley was created by the Origami Craftsman's sister to act as a bride to Olly. When he met her, he didn't take very kindly to her, mostly because of her psychotic behavior. She loves him dearly, but knows that he hates her guts. Now she is on a mission to hopefully get him to like her more. Will she succeed? Or will she fail trying to win over the man she was made for?
