Marionettist Stories

A rewrite of The Puppeteer, by ShipGurlHalox (me). Izuku Midoriya was born with an unusual quirk. It allows him, on activation, to spawn mini-puppets that will obey his every word. Throughout his school years, he was bullied because of this quirk. He was bullied because he was different. Apparently, no one likes different. Izuku vowed to get revenge on his classmates for tormenting him all of his life. He would train to try and make his quirk stronger. They were going to pay for ever messing with Izuku Midoriya. And why not make it fun? (Inspired by @4Izuku_Only . Thank you.)

She who was not a character in her tale, watched from the top of the grand staircase, watched with empty eye sockets as they trickled in, as her fingers bent and played those silent melodies, and the objects of her story did her will. Because she was the marionettist. She reigned over them all. She felt their grief, and she ached for them. She told their stories, because she was unable to tell her own. And this was her tale of a thousand woes. In the which an entity from the depths of your nightmares turns out to be human ; and though she cannot see, nor feel, nor speak, her characters play out the tragedies she felt in her own skin.

Desperate for a job, Aliana's life took a turn when she accepted a simple job, being an assistant to a famous marionettist. There's this deep sense of familiarity when she sees it, a tugging feeling gnaws at her, trying to remember something she could not pinpoint. It was filled with mystery, but she badly needed that job, so she stayed, thinking it would be her last day.
