Out of revenge for his family he kidnaps her in order to gain his freedom from the pirate he is indebted to for life. The princess takes a liking to the pirate life and maybe even to the salty pirate who took her.

The characters are based on the selection series written by Kiera Cass. Ever wondered about the life of Ahren, brother of Eadlyn? This story begins a little bit earlier before Eadlyn started her own selection. It is mainly about Ahren's life at the Illean palace (with flashbacks) and how he met the love of his life, princess of France, Camille.
