Aminat jumped from her bed the instant the concussive sound reached her ears, a sweaty hand grabbed hers which hung freely by her side from the lower four poster bed, she flinched at first but realised it was Lucia. "Slush! Don't shout." Lucia whispered as she rolled from the bed and crouched toward the glass window. Two silhouette cuddled together on a bed opposite theirs shivered, it was dark, light was out, it was a foolish idea to even attempt to switch a lamp on. Whatever it was she needed to know. "What is it?" she asked, instinctively reaching for her shawl. Her attempted was interrupted with a gunshot and the blood curdling shriek of a girl. The use of words and vocabulary is very adequate and interesting. The title is even catchy and everything about the book screams Nigerian. This is a story about a girl who is a good pretender. Showing that she is fine with everything although her happiness is at stake. She is married to a jerk who will break her heart. This marriage is against her will, but for her mother, she gave up her happiness.

This story is about a 17 year old patriotic girl whose life has been full of troubles. But she still has belief in Allah and that doesn't let her give up. After her step mother mistreats her for long, she gets an offer from an agency whose works she has always admired. Her late father used to tell her stories about their success, their Imaan, their planning and how they had people who would sacrifice their life but would not let a single secret out. She was always intrigued by Ghazis and Shaheeds, she wanted to have the courage, the bravery, and the Imaan to fight and even die for her country and her deen. "Mom gets the money, I get Jannah and inner peace" But getting into it wasn't as easy as she thought. The training was tough and brutal. "Our training was so hard that the torture here feels nothing, but I do need to get out of here as soon as possible. I have tasks to complete." When some agent dies during their work. No country accepts them. Nobody can. The dead body is usually just left somewhere to rot, even their family doesn't get to know if they are alive or dead. But Jannah is the destination for the soul. That's for sure. And that's Rabb's promise, I don't trust anyone but Him.
