I'm currently rewriting this fic FOR THE THIRD TIME. I realized I was trying so hard to get out chapters and just make it interesting instead of making myself an actually good writer😭. I've started reading real books instead of fanfics in the middle of the night...so hopefully this style is better. It's Remus x Oc Potter, slow burn...kinda? idfk but stay tuned, I'm trying to get chapters out at least once a week. He smiles at me reassuringly, his gaze warming. "So, last night..." He shrugs a little and shifts slightly in his seat. "What about it?" I say trying to make it clear I don't want to discuss this in front of his friends. He tilts his head to the side and looks at me. "Well, we kind of fell asleep to-" He stops speaking, realizing the implications of what he's saying. "Never mind, forget I said anything." "We'll talk about it later just not in front of everyone," I tell him. He nods in agreement. I finish my breakfast and walk out of the dining room with James Potter. Once the two of us are far enough away from everyone else, he looks at me carefully. "Look, I..." He pauses and sighs, running his hand through his hair, trying to figure out what he wanted to say. He looks down at the floor, trying to find the words and muster up the courage. "Can I ask you something?" he asks. "Of course you can," I tell him. "Okay, so you remember how last night we fell asleep..." he pauses for a minute, trying to pick up where he left off. "Well, I just wanted to ask you..." He looks at me, but I can tell that he's still struggling to say it. "I do remember," I say hopefully encouraging him to say something. "Okay...so, um...it's just that, well.." He pauses again, and you can tell that he's struggling a lot. He swallows nervously, looking away for a moment before glancing away. Finally, he works up the courage to say the words. "So, I just wanted to ask you what...what you thought about the whole thing that happened?" "I don't think it should happen again. You're in love with Lily and I have my studies to think about," I say with a sigh. And I was in love with him but he would never know. His heart sinks, and he lets out a deep sigh. "Yeah...you're right," he mumbles, nodding in agreement. He shakes his head and runs a hand through his messy hair. "Sorry I even brought it up," he says, looking down at the ground.
