Bari, named after the legendary Korean princess who journeyed to the underworld, was a K-pop trainee on the verge of breaking, not from the industry's ruthless standards, but from an incurable illness that threatened to erase her, her soulmate, and her future.
At her lowest, Victor, a K-pop manager alluding to Frankenstein, offered her a desperate solution: the industry's first CRISPR-built idol, a genetically "perfected" version of Bari that would solve her problem. But was Victor a savior or something far worse?
Bari had hard battles to fight. Accompanied by her friend Ji-soon and guided by a Korean Mudang-a female shaman-she traversed into her own past as a living witness to a hidden lineage she never knew she had. There, she relived the brutal, many-lives battles between good and bad Korean shaman pigs: chaotic, totemic spirits that feed on human ambition and despair. Each vision cost her a piece of her present, but also unlocked a strange inner resilience.
Who was Bari? Could she debut as her true self-not a lab-made idol?
