What if Mary I had an older twin and the Boleyns raised four children to adulthood instead of three? How would succession, faith, and rivalry change? Published on tumblr, fanfiction.net and Ao3. -- "Who's the eldest?" "The one you are holding and then this one followed after." Catherine beams at both of her daughters. "What are we to name them?" "This one," he looks to the gulf in his arms, "we shall have named for my grandmother. Margaret, you shall be Margaret in remembrance of blood and lineage." He nods toward the child in Catherine's left arm. "And this one, Mary. For the Virgin Mary and for my sister; a good and steady name for a princess."

England, 1539. After marrying 4 times and finally getting a male heir to continue the line, King Henry VIII decided that it is time to find a husband for her eldest daughter Mary. Mary is 23 years old, but she already carries a lot of struggles and worries for her age. The "Great Matter" in 1533 changed her life forever. After being declared illegitimate, forbade to see her mother even on her death bead and forced to serve, Mary's character shattered. She blames herself for all it happened and tries to mask it with perfect manners, though it pains her on the inside. She does not trust easily and does not know how to let somebody who really wants to help her in. Duke Philip is a German Duke. Loosing both his parents because of the Landshut's "War of Succession" in 1504 and only being but an infant, Philip had grown his character - he is known as "Philipp der Streitbare", in English translates to "Philip the Contentious". In 1529, he successfully fought the Turks during the Siege of Vienna at the head of two regiments and was made a Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece two years later. He is an adventurous person and perhaps a little too much to go in England and ask for the King's daughter's hand in marriage. When they met for the first time on 8th of December, Philip and Mary felt an instant connection. They both have similar past and scars and they both know exactly what it is to have to pretend that you're not hurting just to please the people. The question is - will Mary let Philip in? Will she let him see her true fears, her scars, her worries, her burdens that still haunt her at night and she cannot sleep because of. Will she let him see the real Mary?

"The Tudor Rose: A Thorn Among Thorns" delves into the tumultuous life of Mary I, Queen of England. More than just "Bloody Mary," she was a woman caught between the legacy of her parents, Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, and the treacherous currents of religious and political upheaval. This story explores her struggles to claim her birthright, her desperate desire for love and an heir, and the weight of the crown that ultimately crushed her. Was she a religious fanatic, a pawn in a larger game, or a woman simply trying to survive in a brutal era? Amidst the thorns of betrayal, rebellion, and heartbreak, Mary's story is one of resilience, ambition, and the tragic cost of power.

Woman fight. Royal, woman fight. For many reasons we all clash heads and pens and ribbons for the love and affection of the oh so beloved King. Henry is not a prize worth fighting for, but I shall fight. Not for myself but strictly out of spite of Anne Boleyn's cocky behavior and Catherine's naivety and refusal. Out of spite of Jane Seymour's petty words and spread legs. I aim to be Queen, with many sons, not for happiness or love. But to prove how cunning and manipulative Queens can be. This is our war that we fight silently and elegantly. Resembling swans and a beautiful yet powerful dance. We fall and we rise as quickly as the tide changes favor. Some swim while others...... well, you get the memo.

Katherine Tudor was supposed to be stillborn. A dead daughter of Elizabeth of York whom would die days before her mother. That is no longer the case. Instead she became Queen of France at 13. The wife of Le Garcon Roi; the boy king. The Queen Mother who kept the country afloat for nearly a decade and continued to do so until the day she died. Yeah, I like this story better, too. UNDER EDIT AND REVISION I might continue it, I have some drafts, but HoTD has my attention rn and I want to see where my ideas with that go. Thank you guys for reading though (:

**the future queen rewrite. Katerina Lahey is an intelligent and forward thinking young woman with dreams to better the world. Who knew by being sent back in time, falling in love with a king and changing history she may just get that chance. **I just want to preface this as completely historically inaccurate. To the characters, date, timeline, clothes, location, and characterisations. I do not condone Henry the eighth or think he was anyway a decent person this is just a fun lil fanfic.
