Holt ends up taking his Thomas to meet the girl at her book signing, and ends up inviting her for dinner if she is ever passing by. Samantha and her fiance Felix end up agreeing to Holt's offer for dinner if they are ever passing by. Well, if luck were to have it, as they were leaving Texas a few weeks later, Samantha and Felix ended up at a gas station. The owner of the gas station ends up being Luda Mae, the mother of Holt and Thomas. She invites them to stay for dinner and they agree. They head out to the house and before reaching their destination, they end up getting into a car wreck. Luda Mae is driving home and sees Samantha and Felix's car flipped over. She calls her son Holt and they get them out of the car and head to the house. Holt claims that Felix has a serious injury and offers to take him to the hospital, but Holt takes him to the basement instead, where Thomas is excited to end him. Thomas is angry that Felix has the girl he wants, has perfect skin. He took out his rage butchering him. Felix becomes dinner that night, and Samantha ends up never leaving the Hewitt household.
