For someone who has to fend for himself and survive alone for most of his life, Knuckles never truly knew what gentle affection meant or how it felt like. He knew what it was like to get punched, kicked, slapped, and anything that was hard and rough to his body. But gentle, soft, inoffensive touching is completely foreign to him. Yet he felt rather curious and longing for that type of touch one day while he was alone with his new, adoptive mother, Maddie.
