The Spartans are widely known as humanities saviours. Heroes in the flash, at least to the public. Although the Spartan-II program is still classified, even less is known about a little side project that Dr. Catherine Halsey had been working on in secret. Kept so close to the vest that not a single file on this existed in the ONI or UNSC database: the Pandora project. While on some well hidden planet for the Spartans to train and hone their skills, Silver Team is called into action after a ship crashlands onto their world. With the galaxy at war, the location of this planet is considered extremely sensitive, not even having a name. Taking no chances with this unknown vessel, command is quick to decide on the elimination of the possible threat. The Spartans' orders: shoot to kill on sight. Only after they find their supposed enemy, both surprise and a hint of shock fill the base. The news unexpected, and slightly sickening to some: it turns out the Spartans weren't Halsey's last victims after all. For all the cold shoulders and suspicious glares given by Marines - shit falling from space was never good - it were the Spartans who took a liking to the newcomer. If anything, it made for an interesting addition to their daily lives. With scientists trying to figure out how this person's powers were even possible, command is left a difficult choice: kill them, or try to gather more information on the project, and possibly even locate the disgraced and deserted Dr. Halsey? With no better options available, it is decided to have the Spartans be in charge of the newcomer; easier in case elimination becomes necessary. Will this mystery from the sky turn out to be a blessing or curse in disguise? -●- I do not own anything of Halo, obviously. Using my own scenarios, I will strive to stay true to the characters' personalities. While set more in the game style, there's the addition of Kai, Riz, and Vannak for Silver Team with OG Master Chief.

An unknown event has caused multiple realities and timelines to merge. To maintain a measure of of stability, the inhabitants of this strange new existence have agreed to a very shaky form of peace. Meanwhile, certain powers that be set out to recruit the finest minds and combatants to their cause as the rest attempt to make their way in this strange new universe. I do not own the cover used, Star Wars, Halo, Metroid, or any of the other properties that may appear in this story, they all belong to their respective companies. Combat Evolved is the first book of my main series known as 'Halo Battle Buddies' and will lead up to the first game and beyond. In a galaxy-wide war. For over 20 years, humanity has been on the defensive, surviving against the odds from a genocidal religious alien cult known as the Covenant. Fighting for humanities very existence, untold numbers of UNSC forces will lay down their lives so that countless others may live. This story is a "what if scenario" and unique take on an idea that the creators of Halo original made for a draft to how Halo 2 was supposed to end during the designing phase of the videogames. (When Halo 2 was the "last game" and Halo 3 wasn't supposed to exist due to the current development schedules at the time). That idea being how Master Chief and Commander Miranda Keyes were supposed to have a "romantic relationship" at the end of the game, but scrapped it due to it making no sense for this to even happen. So, this story about this concept of an unlikely relationship with Master Chief and Commander Miranda Keyes and will recreate it to be more complex and expand this scrapped idea and potential make something of it. Ultimately, during the darkness of war, the time for companionship is an afterthought as time passes and chaos continues. Will this unlikely duo that being the legendary Spartan 2 Master Chief and UNSC Commander Miranda Keyes grow closer together against such darkness against the Covenant, or fall victim as many have before them.

At the end of Halo: 3, the Master Chief managed to save the Universe from total annihilation by eliminating the Ark. Unfortunately, the success of this mission came with the price of the Spartan-II's life, leaving humanity to mourn the loss of their greatest hero. However, this was not the end of the Master Chief's story; Through unspecified means, he was reborn as a large Cybertronian warrior and located by Ultra Magnus. The blue Mech offered the Master Chief a chance to fight for the Autobot cause, and defend the universe from the merciless claws of the Decepticons. Nothing ever seems to go right for the Spartan-II.

Six months prior to the worst crisis the normal Milky Way would face, Commander Shepard hunts the Collectors abducting human colonists in the Terminus Systems when she comes upon a terrifying new sight:Three Intergalactic fleets arrayed against each-other and her sole Frigate. Three new factions, one seeking a home and two seeking answers, all linked by the Star Roads.

But a few years later she is torn from her friends and the only family she has known since her real family's death on the planet of Eridanus II.
