Masters Stories

Now known as the Hero Warrior, Stevon protects Brooklyn, New York alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Seven. However, a dangerous villain threatens Stevon's awesome new life with plans to use a secret weapon to wipe out the martial arts and conquer Brooklyn, New York. In order to defeat the new enemy, Stevon must find a way to save the art of kung fu.

An ancient and powerful artifact must be recovered and delivered to Grayskull before Skeletor takes possession of it. What if a Masters of the Universe story appeared as a serial in "Weird Tales" back in the 1930's? I wrote the bulk of this story in 2009 - 2012 (and completed the final two chapters in 2022) as an experiment along just those lines: a MOTU adventure in the style of Robert E. Howard, of whose works the MOTU franchise has always been derivative. Those early minicomics, beautifully illustrated by Alfredo Alcala and Mark Texiera, captivated my youthful imagination and led to my eventual love of prewar American pulp fiction. This story draws mostly on that canon, with some Filmation elements as well.

Luna has been a bounty hunter for many years. Hiding her identity from all but a few trusted and goes by the name Blacklightning. When a dark shadow is cast across the land she must team up with the ninja to save Ninjago. She quickly forms a connection with the nindroid named Zane and she soon learns they have more in common then meets the eye. What will happen when Luna must face her past? How will Luna cope with falling in love for the first time?
