A young woman stood outside, holding an umbrella as snow drifted down from the skies. Her face was emotionless but her eyes, their blue depths, betrayed the hurt, the sorrow, the anguish which she hid from the rest of the world. Her feet, adorned with plain wooden geta moved slowly as she walked toward her home. Then she stiffened in surprise as she noticed a small bundle, covered with a hay blanket. There were many piles of trash strewn around the poorest place in the Red Light District, but this bundle was not trash. She smiled reassuringly when her eyes met the innocent blue ones of a little girl and the wary ones of an older boy.
