Therefore, when Thomas Barrow informs him that his son and niece are in danger, Matthew realizes he must hone in on his new fatherly instincts. Will they prove useful, or will they just lead him in the wrong direction? Second story in the "Miracle" AU.

We never saw what went on in Mary's head. Julian fellowes never showed us her reaction after Matthews death or informed us on how she felt. This is a piece of writing describing her life leading up to his death and reactions after death.

In this version Michael Gregson isn't found until after the Drewes leave. He is found but is in hiding. Sybil and Tom are fine as well but may be moving closer to the agent office for the estate, Mary and Matthew are fine as well and Mary may be expecting? Also Harold and Miss Allsop are love interests of each other as well as Mrs Crawley and Lord Merton. Lady Rose still ends up with Atticus Aldridge. Downstairs in this version Ivy doesn't come until after Daisy has told Alfred she likes him. And Anna is expecting her son earlier in this version but still has the procedure so she doesn't miscarry. Also in this version Denker is dismissed and does leave even though she already knows about Spratt's nephew. And O'Brian is back and gets hired by Violet?

(I'm posting this even though I haven't written anything yet, to motivate kyself to finish this, sorry:) The (now) 17 years old George Crawley, son of Mary and Matthew Crawley, finds himself in love with the last person he'd ever thought to fall in love with.
