Tseren commits a crime a day for Kaz Brekker. Even talking to him could get her a stint in jail. Her Dreg tattoo, hidden by her servant uniform, could get her sent to Hellgate, with the wrong judge. And yet, it's worth it. She knows it is. Brekker's promises have already started to come to fruition-his payments have begun to make a dent in her and Solongo's debts. A couple more years of this, and they'll be free.

A quest leads eleven demigod heroes to another world. Left without the gods or their allies, they must rely on each other to survive. Or so they think... The Crows didn't mean to find magical teenagers from a different world. They're intrigued of course, but Kaz quickly decided that these enigmas are assets. He may just have to use them until they become liabilities.

Kaz Brekker has always been smarter than the average child. He's always known there is something special about himself. Turns out he was right, Kaz now lives with a wizard named Per Haskell. Kaz has his entire life planned out. Go to Hogwarts, become top of the class, and graduate, then work at the ministry and become rich. His plans change when The Black Heretic tries to use the Philosopher's Stone to come back to life and Kaz ends up making a powerful enemy. The eleven year old genius must enlist help, a kind Gryffindor with an invisibility cloak, and Hufflepuff who keeps losing his rat, another Gryffindor who is great at dueling, and a blood supremacist who somehow ended up being a Hufflepuff. -Wylan will show up in book 2- -Cross posted on Archive of Our Own- -I do not own any characters used or support JK Rowling-

This is a SoC AU loosely based off of The Secret History and The Ninth House as Wylan tries to figure out if something sinister really is afoot at the University of Ketterdam, or if his mother's genetic paranoia has finally set in...
