fun fact about this one: it stayed EMPTY in my drafts for almost two weeks. i just wanted MattTom, but i never knew what the concept is; how to start, the subject, the angst, action, conclusion, ...

- An Eddsworld Mermaid Au / TomMatt Fanfic - It was summer break and Tom can barely sleep at nights, he always ended up staying up til the morning. The waves of the beach somehow calmed him down on his worst nights. One of these morning he finds a strange and fasinating creature. As normal, curiosity gets the better of him.

Tom was always the outcast. Unwanted by his family, ignored by his school and pitied only by his friends. Well, except for Tord, the Norwegian runaway who lived with Tom, along with Edd and Matt. Tord and Tom had never gotten along, especially after Tom told them all he was a Blue Demon - one of the worst of them all. He hated being born as one; hated being such a freak. Transforming at random times and causing him to be impulsive. Tom was close to pushing everyone away, what with Tord's smart remarks and teasing about everything Tom did or said. He almost lost everything. Until Matt stepped in. He seemed to care for Tom, more than the Demon ever thought someone could. Matt told them all he was a Blue Angel, the complete opposite of Tom. Everyone was shocked at the finding, especially Tom. How could someone so opposite be so kind to someone who should honestly be an enemy? Trigger warnings: Abuse, substance usage, suicidal thoughts, possible self harm

Tord kidnaps Matt so he can take over the world and make Matt his queen. Edd and Tom have to save Matt but will they be able to make it in time before Matt falls in love with Tord? Warning:Mentions of Abuse and some violence Eddsworld does not belong to me. I do not ship Any of their real life counterparts together.

This idea was originally my friend jakes, who came up with the possible back story of Matt struggling to find a way to help Tom live through the eminent cancer he had in his eyes, but the only way to help him is to ask tord, AKA red leader, who they currently are forming a resistance against. Being too kind, tord accepts, under the conditions that matt and Edd go through and finish every trial he throws at them.
