When Rufus the dog wanders onto the wrong porch, Clara's quiet, temporary life tilts in a direction she never expected. Freshly separated and living in a borrowed house, Clara isn't looking for connection - especially not with the gentle, steady man next door who brews too much coffee and carries more kindness than he realises. Ethan isn't looking either. But he notices her. The way she sits. The way she breathes. The way she's trying to hold herself together without making a sound. What begins as shared evenings, soft conversations, and the comforting weight of a dog who refuses to choose sides slowly becomes something neither of them can ignore. But when Clara's past resurfaces - tender, complicated, unresolved - she finds herself standing between two lives: the one she built, and the one she never saw coming. A later‑in‑life romance about quiet bravery, unexpected belonging, and the porch that changed everything.

Mira Arumi likes certainty. Schedules. Deadlines. Silence. Then she meets Prama Jenggala-a cultural curator, dalang, and Kanjeng Pangeran Arya from Yogyakarta whose life seems to move to a different rhythm entirely. In the Netherlands, what begins as a conversation slowly unfolds into something neither of them intends: shared coffees, long walks beneath Dutch skies, wayang performances accompanied by contemporary music, and a growing collection of ordinary moments that refuse to remain ordinary. As Javanese culture quietly survives far from home-not through grand ceremonies but through habits, stories, rituals, and memory-Mira finds herself drawn into a world she never expected to enter. Semilir of Last Tenderness is a slow-burning literary novel about friendship, culture, belonging, and the rare people who change our lives simply by remaining beside us. Some relationships arrive with fireworks. Others arrive like a gentle breeze.

Some inheritances are simple. This one isn't. When Claire and Elliot are named co-executors of an estate neither of them asked for, they're forced into proximity, decisions, and conversations they'd rather avoid. The house comes with history. The responsibility comes with pressure. And the person across the table turns out to be far more complicated than expected. As deadlines close in and outside opinions grow louder, Claire and Elliot must learn how to navigate shared responsibility without losing themselves-or each other-in the process. What We Inherited is a contemporary romance about emotionally competent adults, quiet tension, and the unexpected intimacy that grows when life is already in motion. Updates every other day.

Getting older is no joke. Unless it's used as the punchline. It seems that once we (particularly women) pass a certain age, it's assumed that our personalities, dreams, sense of self, and thoughts about our future go right out the window. Surely we don't think about the future...aren't our lives over? By the way, the highest target audience here on WattPad is 25 and up - which confirms my point. As if the world at large, now that youth is behind us, thinks there is nothing left in our minds but maybe grandchildren, trips to Florida, and baking. As a woman rapidly approaching fifty...I can tell you this is complete and utter bullshit. I'm going to assemble a collection of 50 stories featuring leads that are over the age of 50. Some will be on the cusp...others far beyond it. Many will have elements of romance but not all. This will take a while but it's something of a passion project. I hope you enjoy the journey.

Gladys Johnson had never taken a risk in her whole life. She did all the things she was supposed to do when she was expected to do them. When her husband dies suddenly and leaves his secrets for her to find, she suddenly feels adrift, angry, and uncertain of her place in the world. Getting on the road in an RV to travel cross-country, she goes in search of the something that seems to be missing from her life. Nothing surprises her more than actually finding it. This is a part of my "Over 50" stories but has become too large for the short story anthology. I needed to move it to it's own book. I hope you like it!
