Mauling Stories

The newscaster's face was grim as he looked into the camera, reading from a teleprompter unseen to his audience. He breathed deeply, and began to tell the story. "Tragedy struck in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee today when famed researcher Dr. Lynn Walter-Tuttle was attacked and killed by her own longtime research partner Turing the Bear," he read. He took a deep breath before continuing, "Turing, called Turry for short, was part of a study concerning human and animal cognition. This experiment was wildly controversial, as are most experiments concerning human-animal chimeras. We are joined today by animal expert Matthew Cunningham and human psychologist Dr. Berry Rodrigez, in the hopes of putting together why this happened."

Having won at the Geoffrey Science Quiz, Faith and some other students are awarded the chance to go on a field trip to an experimental science laboratory. Upon entering the Laboratory, Faith wasn't very impressed. She was bored by the whole ordeal. But little did she know that she would be running for her life in no time. Note from author: I wrote this story based on a nightmare I had. There won't be a huge plot twist or anything of that sort. But I wanted to write a short story. So here it is. Ricki decided to go out for a midnight walk, but meets a much more terrifying fate than she had hoped for. This is a pretty old one, actually.

Debbie has always been ugly and kind of strange. All the boys at her school tease her and nickname her "Little Debbie." But after Debbie goes on a camping trip and has a horrible accident, her whole life changes. Surgery is needed to repair her damaged body, and what a difference it makes! When she goes back to school, nobody recognizes her, not even her best buddies! In fact, the boys who mocked her most are falling head over heels for her. How will Debbie deal with her new situation? Will she forgive the kids who bullied her day after day or will she break their hearts? Read to find out!

The sky was orange and pink and purple. White highlighted clouds floated across the sky. Waves lapped across the sand in the distance. I started jogging across the sand, which turned wet. I pranced about. I frisked right into the water. Round ripples appeared where the water splashed. I ran everywhere. And I looked up. The sky had turned a bruise purple. I stared as the moon came up over the ocean, sending it's silvery light skittering across the waves. I slowly backed out of the water. When Kizzy runs into the woods, she is attacked by a blue eyed wolf that craves her blood. 'I stared into it's silvery-blue eyes. They weren't just silver, dull as blue eyes or green eyes, but like a sheet of pure silver for an iris, painted with watercolor blues to have it's moonish glow.' When her sister finds her, she too is mauled. When they wake up though, they find themselves in a new world of nightime excurions and mysterius wolves. Not to mention being afraid of the moon and turning into a werewolf. Lizzy and Kizzy are about to get thrown into the adventure of their lives.

Will she finally lose it at seeing her sister again? Or will she be able to deal with it and work with her to make sure everyone is safe? And when two hunters she has been working with, Maldin and Magnus, show up to offer help, and Ali somehow knows one of them, what will happen? And will everyone survive? Then, when devastating famiy secrets are uncovered and dead people keep coming back to haunt her, what will Alara do? And will she be able to trust anyone that she's ever known?
