Maybe it was the fact that she looks like a sixteen year old, I mean she had always looked young for her age, or maybe it was the matching cupcake pyjamas but either way they believe her. They believe that she was just an innocent little girl who was lost in a maze under a mansion. Just a little girl, she thought while she smiles to herself. This, she could play the part. Adare had finally found her family. In all her nineteen years she had known that there was something different about her. Her birth family, thinking that she's dead is finally done grieving and she can sleep knowing that they're all safe. She is halfway around the world and everything is falling into place. All she has to do is protect their secret and it will all be fine and dandy. Until that fateful night in that damn mansion. They made the wrong move and now history has a chance to repeat itself. In the ruins of a grand ballroom where time no longer moves, a lonely spirit dances beneath a swaying chandelier that remembers every note ever played. Ghost the Yūrei - a soul chained between love and damnation - wanders the endless halls of the Velvet Mausoleum, where velvet curtains whisper secrets and broken mirrors reflect lives long lost. Once a boy who drowned beneath the waves, Ghost awakens in a decaying palace that feeds on memory and despair. Each night, he relives fragments of joy twisted into sorrow - phantom music, shadowed guests, and the faint scent of lilacs that reminds him of Amaya, the girl he loved and lost to time. But the ballroom is not just haunted - it is alive. It breathes. It watches. It remembers. As Ghost searches for a way out, he uncovers the Mausoleum's cruel truth: every soul trapped within its crimson halls is a reflection of his own grief, each dancer a memory he refused to let go. And when Amaya's spirit returns, he must decide - to cling to the echo of love or to free them both by letting the music finally end. The Velvet Mausoleum is a gothic tragedy of love and loneliness - where the chandeliers weep, the waltz never ceases, and even the dead learn what it means to let go.

Ominous clouds gather above the Grimwood Family Crypt while Rebecca rests like Sleeping Beauty inside her glass coffin. Though her two loyal confidants, Nick and Derek, make desperate attempts to awaken her, the bridge that connects Rebecca's physical body to her soul is slowly withering away. Inside the Black Book the diabolical yet irresistible love witches, Sophia and Garret, are plotting to return the Diary to its evil ruler. They will stop at nothing, even if it means using every heart-wrenching hocus-pocus in their spell book. While skulls and bones levitate in the air, and cauldrons boil inside the witches' cottage, never take your eyes off the quietly sinister lake, because something horrible is lurking there. Even more bloodcurdling than the Butcher, a monster so wicked he will make your heart stop. Love is a battlefield, but so is the Black Book. Is this the end for one of them?

Chicago's rich history comes alive through Larry Broutman's stirring photographs of grave markers, headstones, monuments, tombs, chapels, mausoleums, and war memorials in his latest book "Chicago Eternal." This giant, hardcover full-color coffee table book explores over thirty Cook County cemeteries, featuring striking images of the final resting places of the Windy City's most illustrious leaders, entrepreneurs, entertainers, artists, and athletes, as well as notorious gangsters. Each image is accompanied by text that provides fascinating insight into the deceased's life and historical and cultural contributions. Also included are tributes to the lesser known. These photographs and their corresponding descriptions tell deeply touching tales of children or entire families taken before their time by diseases or fire and of soldiers who identities may be unknown but whose bravery and ultimate sacrifice have not been forgotten. Through "Chicago Eternal," the departed still have a voice. https://www.everythinggoesmedia.com/product-page/chicago-eternal

The decade: Early 1950s, perhaps late 1940s. The setting: A small city, somewhere outside New York City. There lives a single mother and her daughter. Like most mothers, she would sacrifice anything to keep her child safe, happy, healthy. It's a little late. She loves her more than life itself. That's what takes her down when unfortunately, a sunny day with ice cream turns into... a sunny day with splattered ice cream, splattered guts, and her daughter's death. Oh and I forgot to mention, splattered hearts. At her funeral, a stranger approaches her. Someone uninvited whom she can't seem to recall. He has a knack at reading people, knowing what they're about to say before they do and knowing what they choose not to say, their secrets. He's a guest at the present, however she can't tell how long he's been at the party, and how long he's here to stay.
