In Eve's media-ruled world, turning 18 means you are finally allowed to choose which channel you want to watch, and by doing so, to decide what kind of world you inhabit: a heartwarming one in which neighbors help each other out like her mother, a world on the brink of the end-times like her father, a bohemian theme park like her brother, or something else. There are hundreds of channels, with more being added every day. Her birthday is next week, and she's never felt more confused or alone.

With this new found power, the youngest of the kids begins to spot a common enemy lurking within each electronic device.
