On their 15th birthday, brothers Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo go up to the surface for the very first time. They witness Okumura Nari, April O'Neil, and Kirby O'Neil being kidnapped by alien robots called the Kraang. They save the girls, but now must find a way to save Mr. O'Neil. However, their presence brings the Foot Clan and their leader, the Shredder, to New York, where Nari's past comes back to haunt her.

After their lair is destroyed by Baxter Stockman's mousers, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Splinter find a new home elsewhere in the sewers and also gain new allies in the form of Okumura Nari, April O'Neil, Maya Jackson, Seraphina Anderson and Casey Jones.

After years of being sheltered from the human world, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers. With help from their new friend Okumura Nari and her friend group April O'Neil, Maya Jackson, and Seraphina Anderson, they take on a mysterious crime syndicate. However, they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

Spawned from a lab experiment gone awry, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael live in the sewers beneath New York, going up to the surface ever now and then against their sensei Splinter's wishes. However, a kingpin named Shredder terrorizes the city along with his Foot soldiers. An teenage girl who wants to be a journalist, April O'Neil, and her mentor, Vern, team up with them along with a mysterious mercenary/kunoichi named Okumura Nari. Two years later, Shredder escapes from custody and joins forces with Baxter Stockman, a mad scientist who plans to use a serum to take over the world. Along for the ride are Bebop and Rocksteady, two dimwitted henchmen who provide plenty of muscle and the notorious Kraang. Luckily, three more allies join the team, Casey Jones, a cop and vigilante, Maya Jackson, Jones' apprentice, and Seraphina Anderson, their bubbly informant.

Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Okumura Nari team up with Batman, Batgirl, and Robin to fight against their sworn enemy, The Shredder, who teams up with Ra's Al Ghul and The League of Assassins. Years later, they must face not just their greatest foes but Batman's as well in Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Gotham City. They get the help of their allies, April O'Neil, Maya Jackson, Seraphina Anderson, and Casey Jones.

Splinter senses something amiss in New York City. His disciples and sons, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo, have grown apart since their last adventure. Another disciple of his, Okumura Nari, has returned to New York after a year away in Japan. The five of them must somehow renew and strengthen their bond if they are to have any hope of defeating an evil industrialist's army of ancient monsters with the help of their allies.
