Mayfly Stories

An unexpected event transported Chen Changsheng to a world of fantasy and martial arts, yet he found himself cursed, condemned to live a life of fleeting moments. From that point onward, he would awaken for just one day every three years, only to return to slumber, trapped in an endless cycle. However, his intermittent awakenings led various immortals to mistake him for a highly accomplished sage. Through serendipitous encounters, he embarked on the path of cultivation, tirelessly seeking a way to break the curse of the mayfly. Each time he awoke, it felt as if he had traversed lifetimes. As the autumn wind rose, old acquaintances faded away.

Wooyoung interlaced their fingers and squeezed. He stared into Felix's eyes with a look that was both intense and soft at the same time. "You okay?" The younger's stomach did a flip, and his heart seemed to be beating out of his chest. He looked down at their interlaced hands for a long moment, then back up into Wooyoung's eyes as he slowly smiled. "Yeah," he breathed into the stillness between them. "Cool." Wooyoung grinned and suddenly pivoted, starting off down the footpath again. "We need to get to the dorm, or there won't be time for video games before bed!" Felix let himself be towed along, his hand still clasped in Wooyoung's. There were currently a thousand butterflies in his stomach, doing the kind of choreography he could only dream of, and a tingling sensation was slowly spreading throughout his body.
