The Maze Runner, With a twist.

Barely conscious, unable to move. Light, noise. This must be heaven- or more likely, hell. The unnamed, unknown girl has found herself in the harbor of a labyrinth with only fleeting memories of the outside world to guide her through it: a room, a woman... and a runner?

Emmeline didn't begin her life as a glader in the box. She came from the depths of the Maze, from one prison to another, and realised all she needed to find was someone to hope for. Newt didn't really feel alive as a Glader, until a girl came from the deep in the maze and made him see that all he had needed to find was somebody. Somebody to die for And then they found each other. Disclaimer: Everything but Emmeline (all other characters and ideas) belong to James Dashner! Please keep in mind that I am only 13 at the time of writing this and so I am just a smol bean in the world of writing :))

They used to be normal girls. But things change. Some things change for the good, some for the bad. Winter and Aurora had hoped their lives were changing for the good, but things didn't go to plan... For some people. The actual Maze Runner part starts a little of the way in... The beginning is just some background about Winter and Aurora.

She saw the sky through small cracks in the wood. There were no stars up there, but in her eyes was the whole universe and then some. All the stars the two boys could ever hope to see. To have your memory wiped and your life stolen away from you is one thing. To then be thrown into a life restricted by four towering walls and surrounded by nothing but strangers is where fight or flight really kicks in. Tiegan had no choice but to find her feet in the Glade. She was the first girl to arrive and had no time to be terrified of the life the boys before her had managed to endure. Just as her arrival as the first girl had been a shock, for Tiegan to arrive alongside a boy left suspicious whispers within the walls because there had only ever been one new Glader at a time. There were so many secrets beyond the walls but it was hard to try and listen to them when life in the Glade was forced to go on like clockwork. Thomas - the boy Tiegan arrived with - can't live restricted within the walls and he does everything to fight his way out. Tiegan can't decide whether the escape that lies beyond the horrors within the maze is better than the restricted life trapped inside the walls of the Glade.

I can't move. I'm stuck in a box of some kind, sending me off somewhere. All of a sudden a bright light blinds me, making me shield my eyes. I can hear murmurs from lots of different voices, what's going on? I start to panic but before I have the chance to think somebody jumps into the box with me.

It felt like hours, days even that she had been stuck in the lonely black cage, ceaselessly moving upwards with constant clanking noises. It had been so long that she'd even had time to calm herself from her initial panic and was even becoming bored. She sat cross-legged on the cold metal floor and absentmindedly stared at her hands folded in her lap. Her mind raced, searching and searching for any memory that could explain where she was or how she'd gotten there. There was nothing, though. She had no answers. All she had was a name. Her name: Beth. James Dashner's The Maze Runner series is the greatest. Find out what happened before WICKED sent Thomas into the Glade. AUTHOR'S NOTE: Please note that this was in progress before the release of The Fever Code, so it doesn't match up. Serendipity: (n.) finding something good without looking for it. "She is like being bathed in the sunlight." Maylin is put in the maze as the first girl ever. At first, she doesn't seem to remember anything, except for her name and Thomas's. What's strange is that when she arrived at the Glade, there was no Thomas. So how and why did she mention his name ? Little by little, she began to dream at night. Repetitive nightmares, always in the same place, always with the same people. Or were these memories ? She had clearly not been sent to the maze by chance; there was a specific reason for her arrival. It was up to her to discover it, at her own expense and to her great misfortune. Maylin is a joyful girl. She is brave, energetic, and yet full of mystery. She was afraid of nothing, or at least that's what she let appear. Maylin was full of hope, she was their hope. It's been almost a year since they got to the safe haven, but Thomas can't heal. He reads Newt's letter everyday, once in the morning and once in the evening. He can't help but wonder what he could have done differently. But one morning, Thomas and the others are startled to find a small surprise waiting for them on the beach. A surprise that'll push them to go back to the world they so longed to escape from.
