But when an international incident summoned Jason Blackburn, who's an old friend and Cath's ex lover, to Hawaii, a lot of secrets will be revealed. And the conflict between the 2 men will be very brutal.

Steve McGarrett had wasted 1 year of his life trying to get over Catherine. Now he was with Lynn, but does he really feel the same way about Lynn, that he did with Catherine? One year on from Steve being shot and receiving part of Danny's liver when Danny sees a familar face leaving the hospital. Does he tell Steve that Catherine has returned home to Oahu from CIA active duty with a life threatening heart disease. Or does he let Catherine make him promise that he won't. .
