A prequel inspired by RWBY Grimm Eclipse that takes place after The attack on Central Vale at the end of the events of volume 2. teams RWBY and JNPR are accompanied by their new allies Gale Riley, Clarissa Faireborn, Marissa Faireborn and Chainbreak to go on an expedition to repair the Control Centers. However this expedition will prove to be more dangerous than expected.

When Bumblebee crash lands on Remnant from his own reality, he befriends a Huntsman to whom they will learn from each other. But their encounter was only a prelude to a larger conflict that will make Remnant more than meets the eye!
