Damon moved from his small childhood town in Florida all the way to NY to escape his past. He couldn't adjust to his new life though as his depression and PTSD would get in the way and could not afford therapy as he already struggled with keeping his apartment. He lost hope within himself and eventually decided to end it all but out of nowhere, a complete stranger stood in the way and chose to help fight his demons.
