"Why can't they just understand me..I'm a person too, right?" I asked, looking up at the boy I quite possibly loved. "No one can ever truly understand. They think you're below them..." He said quietly. "But i know you're not. You're something special." Melissa Miller has been put down since birth, because she does not have the legendary looks her family has. As a result, her sister, Ami, gets all the attention and the luxuary of the very wealthy family. Everytime Ami feels like it, she asks to move to a new town. In one small Michigan town, Melissa puts her foot down. She finlly met a great guy, and even a possible friend. Not to mention her sister hasn't spread any nasty rumors about her...yet. Will she stay with the boy she may even love? Or will Ami win again and send them packing?

"August, why did you leave me?" I asked in a hoarse low voice, to no one in particular. "I'm sorry Mel." a voice that sounded scarily like his replied in a whisper. Damn his loss has affected me so much that now I can even hear his voice in my head. I lightly chuckled as tears started to form in my eyes. "I love you." The voice said again I raised my head at these words. My eyes went wide as if they were about to pop out, more tears start to fill my eyes and I started breathing heavily. He was in front of me the same fair handsome boy with green eyes and soft silky wavy brown hair but something was off he looked like a hologram he was almost transparent. For a moment I thought I was hallucinating but then the hologram spoke as if he read my mind "Calm down Mel, you are not hallucinating."
