My name is Ethan Cross.
The doctors at Arkham Seven Institute say I'm schizophrenic, delusional, and dangerously persuasive.
I say they're missing the bigger problem.
I've spent years inside Ward C, a psychiatric ward full of false prophets, washed-up actors, conspiracy addicts, and old lunatics who know far more than they should. Around here, everyone is crazy.
The problem is, some of them might be right.
Because in this hospital, patients predict deaths before they happen. Writers claim the world is trapped inside their pages. Actors turn disasters into auditions. And the more I listen, the harder it gets to tell the difference between delusion, performance, and the kind of truth nobody sane wants to touch.
Most people think the madhouse is where reality falls apart.
They're wrong.
It's where the real stories begin.
And outside these locked doors, things only get worse: ghosts, swindlers, fake relics, fortune scams, midnight markets, and a city full of people who are far more dangerous than anyone in Ward C.
I have no interest in being normal.
But if I can lie fast enough, think faster than trouble moves, and stay one step ahead of the people trying to control me, I might just survive long enough to figure out what this world really is:
a joke, a nightmare, or something uncanny enough to be both.
A Madman's Guide to the Uncanny is a darkly funny urban mystery about madness, manipulation, survival, and the terrifying possibility that the least trustworthy person in the room may be the closest thing to the truth.
