Before you turn the first page, I need you to understand something: this is not a story I created just to entertain you. This is me. I'm going to talk about the thoughts that show up when everything gets quiet. The battles nobody sees. The times you smile around everybody else while your mind is somewhere completely different. This book isn't written from the top of the stairs. It's written while walking down them. Every step takes you deeper into my mind. Some steps lead to memories. Some lead to anger. Some lead to people I wish I could forget. Some lead to questions I still don't have answers for. And some lead to parts of myself that I'm still trying to understand.
