This is a Detroit: Become Human fanfiction co-created by me (@SquemonWrites) and Connorrk1700writes. This story is a Mer/Avian au, and does not follow the plotline of the original game. Summary: When Gavin, a lone avian who was bored of his homeland, decides to fly out to explore the open ocean, he has no idea about the dangers awaiting him. After getting caught right in the middle of a raging storm, the avian finds himself receiving help from nobody other than a siren named Nines.

This will mainly be a DNF story but I will include other ships, like karlnapity, platonic tntduo, nikixpuffy, etc. Please let me know if any of the creators included in this fic are uncomfortable with being shipped with anyone, I don't want to overstep any boundries. I don't plan on putting any smut in this specific fic, but some of the other upcoming stories might. I am very slow at updating so please be patient with me! Remember, this is all for fun and any hate towards me or anyone else is not tolerated. If I find your comment to be in the slightest rude or mean, it will be deleted. Keith can't sleep. Ever since his older brother disappeared, he's had nightmares that keep him awake at night. It's been two years. As much as he tries to hide it, people started noticing the changes. So, after some advice, Keith writes all his troubles down in a letter sealed in a bottle. He throws it in the ocean, thinking that no one will ever find it. Lance is a merman living beneath the waves in the mer kingdom of Altea. All his life, his family had warned him to never go close to the shore, for fear of being seen; and all his life, Lance had listened to those warnings. So how come he now found himself not only near the shore, but with a human object in his arms? Maybe it was the way the light shone off it, or the strange feeling he had to need to know more about it. What Lance didn't know was that the message hidden inside that bottle would change his life forever. TW: Angst. A lot of it. Rebellious twenty-four-year-old Victor Nikiforov is fascinated by life under the sea. Sadly, Victor is forbidden from exploring the oceans vast expanse due to its endless dangers. Victor's mother, the powerful Queen of Aria, decides that it's time for her son to grow up and drags him on a journey across the ocean in hopes of finding him a proper suitor to marry. However, during the trip, her plans are derailed when a terrible storm blows in and causes their ship to wreck. During the chaos, Victor is thrown overboard and finds himself struggling to keep his head above water. Miraculously, Victor is saved by a handsome, mysterious mermaid who quickly vanishes back into the salty waters without even a goodbye. Thankful to be alive and hopelessly in love with this skittish Mer, Victor makes a dangerous deal and sets out to find the creature who saved his life.
