In a kingdom where magic is forbidden, Arthur Pendragon and Morgana, unaware of their true sibling bond, discover they possess the very gift their father, King Uther, despises. As their powers grow, so does the risk of discovery, until Uther's worst fears come true. Banished from Camelot and forced into exile, Arthur, Morgana, and their loyal friend Merlin unite to protect the innocent and redefine their identities. Meanwhile, Uther grapples with regret and the truth he has kept hidden-that both Arthur and Morgana are his children.

Merlin finds a girl in the courtyard, wearing all black and a hood. She has no memory of her past, but the little she remembers doesn't seem good.

Arthur and Morgana overhear Merlin's conversation with his mother, and after magic is used in the fight, they both realize that Merlin is a sorcerer. Despite not really wanting to, Arthur decides that Merlin should stay in Ealdor. Now it's Morgana's job to kick Arthur back to Ealdor to get their friend back. But that is not the only reason Arthur wants Merlin to stay with him. Set in the episode 1x10 The Moment of Truth.

Fear of being found drives Merlin out of the last village and back onto the road. While moving through the forest, the young warlock runs across a man in need of help. Merlin doesn't realize this man is the prince of a kingdom who would have him put to death until after he's saved his life. Different first meeting. Merlin never comes to Camelot. Ealdor was destroyed when he was a child and since then, he's been on the run. This is how he meets Arthur.

Hundreds of years after Merlin lost Arthur to Mordred and Morganna, the world is in chaos. A technology born virus has devastated two-thirds of the population and plunged humanity into ruin. Only then does magic return, and with it, an age old prophesy. King Arthur, his queen, and his knights return to unite Albia, but the people of the lands no longer believe in a monarchy, and they are slow to trust a stranger and each other. Merlin faces a land terrified of magic, and somewhere, hidden away, the dark witch Morganna survives and plots her revenge. She's no longer after the crown. She wants annihilation. If the remnants of Camelot are to survive, they'll have to remember what made them great so long ago and convince the people that they are stronger together.

When Morgana takes the Mage Stone to bring it to Tauren and to offer her help in killing Uther, Merlin follows her. Unfortunately for him, Morgana finds him and Merlin accidentally reveals his magic to her by touching the stone. They have a lot to talk about now. Merlin manages to break Sophia's enchantment on Arthur first through friendship, and then through love. As a result, Arthur remembers more than Merlin expected. Meanwhile, Morgana isn't stupid. When she sees Merlin running after Arthur, she realizes that he's the person Gaius went to find-someone who can help. Someone with magic. Set in the episode 1x07 The Gates of Avalon. Merthur.

Merlin's favourite Camelot tradition is the one according to which all servants and their masters switch roles for a day, thus allowing Merlin to have a day off and enjoy all the services that Arthur - his new manservant - is obliged to provide.
