After all, Merlin is nothing without magic, but turns out he is nothing without Arthur. Kilgharrah said Arthur will rise again once Albions need is greatest, but what if it's when merlins need is greatest?

Arthur dislikes his princely duties and really just wants to be a normal kid so one day he sneaks out of his chambers and meets Merlin a young peasant boy, the two make a promise to be best friends forever however thanks to Uther's hatred of magic they're separated but destiny may bring them back together.

"your eyes, have we met somewhere before?" arthur finds out that merlin has magic and merlin runs away and leaves camelot. he takes a potion to change his appearance to a young woman so he can stay hidden forever. arthur goes looking for him and stumbles across a pretty girl with suspiciously familiar eyes...

Gwen is able to figure out pretty quickly the feelings Merlin has for Arthur Pendragon. Also, this is just a short one shot so yeah.

After something terrible occurs, Arthur, Gwen, Gwaine, and Lancelot take their turns in protecting their protector. Merlin's the one in trouble, now, and it's up to them to save him.

Arthur is the son of the strongest king in the land. The bravest king. The smartest king. A king who ruled over his kingdom with a right and just hand, who did anything to protect his people from evil: especially from the evil of magic. Arthur might also have a secret. Or two. Or three. And they could become his downfall. They could could bring about his death- at the hands of the king. (Yes! This is merthur! I'm getting to it. My prologue is just longer than expected.)

My first attempt at a fanfic, bare with me! This is based on the BBC series Merlin, (I dont own that series.) (There will be a mlm love triangle ❤️) "Merlin is a loyal servant, he may not be a good one, but he is loyal. He wouldn't break under pressure.", Arthur repeated to himself over and over again as he paced back and forth in his chambers. Arthur knew in his heart the Merlin wouldn't reveal the secrets of camelot no matter what those bandits did to him.... He realized with a traitorous twist in his stomach that he wasn't really worried for Camelot and his Kingdom at all. The only thing he was truly worried about was what those Bandits might do to Merlin. [It is now posted on my AO3 account under the same name!]

First of all, I own none of the characters and I'm basing this story off of the BBC tv show.

Arthur develops magical abilities in his early teenage years and learns to hide it in fear of his father. Merlin comes along and they both try to hide their magic from the other while simultaneously trying to figure out what the other is hiding from them. Of course, they both need to hide their abilities from Uther, which becomes harder and harder after Merlin is kidnapped by an evil sorceress. All while they struggle to understand their feelings for one another. Set in Season 1, sometime before The Beginning of the End, so he doesn't know he is Emrys yet, but Merlin has been Arthur's manservant for a while. (I don't own Merlin or the characters, just loved the show)

Before Merlin's hand could even fall, Arthur stood in front of him, fury, disgust and pain in his eyes as he held the blood soaked dagger from the deer against Merlin's throat. The Warlock froze. "Oh," he whispered, shocked. "I- I didn't-" Arthur's jaw clenched. "Didn't what, sorcerer. Didn't think id catch you? How long? How long have you been plotting?" He snapped and Merlin frowned, still shellshocked. "Didn't think you- you would actually kill me," he murmured, Arthur faltering as Merlin stared at the red staining Arthur's forearms with a shaky smile. ~~~~~~ Merlins magic is revealed. Arthur reacts in the one way Merlin never believed he would.
