Her people didn't need a warrior, they needed a Queen capable of reconstructing the walls the former ruler (her mother) built from the fear she consumed from her people. That's how Delphine finds herself on the island many people called Paradise. She soon learns it's the exact opposite. When she comes across the inhabitants battling beasts and only just now learning of the outside world, it takes a lot more than diplomacy to gain there trust. "The Mermaid Kingdom" is a magical tale set in an enchanting underwater realm where mermaids, royalty, and mystical creatures coexist. This is my ONC submission for prompt 29: When you touch a mirror, it ripples like water. You dive in. Lorraine has a very boring life. She is just an average 14 year old teenager with nothing to do, but school. She has no siblings. However, when she touches her own mirror, she notices some ripples. Astonished by what she witnessed, she quickly puts on her swim gear, and dives into the mirror, swimming down to the bottom of an ocean world. The name of the ocean world is Fashara, which is heavily populated by mermaids. The mermaid queen, Rosha, welcomes Lorraine with open arms. She gets along with most of the mermaids, and they have one request that cannot be denied; be one of them. Lorraine realizes that she cannot deny the request, lest she be sentenced to death. How would she get back home? She got to Fashara by a mirror. Is there any way back home? Or is she doomed to stay in Fashara forever?

(FIRST DRAFT!) Many types of Undine exist in the continental kingdom of Cetacea. Sirens prey on sailors with alluring illusions. Mermaids can sing storms into being. Selkies amaze with their incredible strength. Naiads heal using their soothing melodies. True Undines, or Nereids, are much more powerful. Their thoughts and emotions can change currents and summon waves. They are feared and oppressed because of their immense power, yet not all of them use their abilities with malice. Cari is a Nereid, and she wants to end the oppression her people experience. Her mission is thwarted, however, when her mother sends her upon a quest to reclaim the weapon of a distant ancestor. Cari is not one to give up on her dreams. But her quest will further strain the Nereids' relationship with the other Undine races. With that, and more, can she change a kingdom founded on an ancient decree aimed against her people?
