Sirens and mermaids have feuded for years. It finally came to a boiling point when mermaids aided human men in avoiding the siren song that would lead to their deaths and consumption. Thalia, next in line to be the Siren King, had to flee in order to survive the starvation inflicted by the mermaid's schemes. Thalia's has to return home, hoping to find any surviving sirens and to avenge those who didn't, unintentionally dragging her human friend, Rae, in the midst of danger.
