Everyone always got the story wrong, "A mermaid princess falls head over feels with a prince, she trades her tail for legs while giving up her voice, but he didn't recognize her and married a neighboring kingdom's princess, and they all blamed the seawitch for the downfall of it all." But what if I told you the seawitch was actually the mermaid princess' best friend and didn't want her to go to the land at all and instead was worried about her so much. What if I told you, the human prince pretended to not recognize her because he wanted to marry the neighboring kingdom's princess? What if I told you the seawitch was only called a seawitch because their kind could perform magic and spells, but merfolk feared them for superstitious reasons? What if I told you that seawitch was in love with the princesses and they wanted to do all they could to prevent her from turning into seafoam? Because that seawitch is me...

Himawari is the locked away mermaid princess of her country, unable to leave after the tragedy that befell her nation centuries ago when her mother the Shogun declared Yona's permanent isolation. For centuries she remained comfortably isolated, But then when a strange flying vehicle lands near her with a soldier from a far off land, fighting in a nations spanning War that threatens to consume her home. But it also gives her the chance not only to escape her guilded cage, but to free Yona from its isolation and save her mother from her centuries long grief. Could her and her newfound friends on land stop the war and bring Yona out from it's centuries of isolation?

It's natural to yearn for what you can't have, humans dream of the ocean depths and the furthest reaches of the sky, Mermaids are the same, cliffs, fields, mountains, and the endless sky, an inky sea always out of reach, full of mysteries and maybes. Perhaps that's why Nebula's mother chose her name, A Nebula, boundlessly swirling with energy, infinitely huge and shining, a mystery that even the keenest eye of their kind had yet to decipher. A mermaid in love with the sky and the land, but bound to the sea by old laws. When an opportunity presents itself in a young woman named Belayni to escape the sea and learn what the world is, will Nebula have the courage to reach out snatch the stars themselves from the sky?

Aria Woods had been using her parents' natatorium after business hours for studying. Little did she know, she wasn't alone. An otherworldly, beautiful song vibrates throughout the facility. Valonia's sister has run away in the pursuit of love. There's only about a million things wrong with that situation. First, they are Oceanides, known as mermaids by the upper world. Second, her sister's love interest is a Human, which risks the exposure of her kind. To keep such an occurrence from happening, Valonia vows to find her sister and bring her back. Only, she has to cross the most dangerous part of the ocean and keep from getting caught herself. ***A short story written for a contest, where the prompt was to write about a mermaid going after her sister, who ran away for a human she fell in love with. In the endless space by the ocean, three strange creatures meet by an old sea arch. They talk about everything from simple meals to the challenges of their many adventures. But when a storm arrives, the island mirrors their inner struggles. It's a long story about souls looking for purpose in life.
