Despite claiming to be the direct desendances of Salazar Slytherin himself; The Most Noble and Most Ancient House of Gaunt found themselves in a very poor lifestyle due to the past generations expensive desires. Great embarassment was put upon the family not only because of this but also because they now have a member who didn't inherit the family's magical trait; Merope Gaunt, the only female left to the House of Gaunts, is a squib. Due to this, she has been abused severly by her father and her brother, yet she didn't give up because of her hope to change her own life. She eventually met a man named Tom Riddle and fell inlove with the very noble and handsome muggle who lives in a mansion over a hill. Merope Gaunt knew that the man she loves will never look at her the same way she will; but as we all know it, she would make ways to change this - that hopefully, Tom Riddle would finally love the woman who currently resides at the cottage down the hill. //alternative universe start: finish:

Sylvia Vervain, a witch with a "weak magical core" grew up with a loving squib mother and muggle father that openly tells her about the magical world despite being non-magical. Merope Gaunt had decided to change his story, he had endured years of mistreatment by his father, he no longer wanted a life like that, he remembered his mother, a beautiful woman with a cruel destiny, being the wife of his own grandfather, being the woman of an older man who abused her, remembering her mother's tears, the blood on her wounds but the kind smile she put on her hiding all the pain, just so that her little daughter wouldn't worry, enduring years of pain, that led her to her death Merope knew it, his family was not good, it was a rotten family to the core, a family that suddenly killed itself and condemned itself to failure, inbreeding killing magic and mistreatment obscuring talent and beauty, Gaunt family was no longer a proud Pure Blood family, and Merope no longer wanted to be part of it, so saying goodbye to what was left of his family, he decided to be the beautiful and manipulative woman his mother had taught him, because he could not wait To a prince who saves her from her pain, she herself would be the knight in search of freedom What Merope did not know, was that someone else handled the threads of his destiny, someone who had come to rewrite the history of Merope Gaunt, so that his future son was not a psycho killer

It's the beginning of a legend, the legend of Lord Voldemort, as he was before he discovered just how special he was, before going to Hogwarts, and before becoming The Darkest Wizard of all time. It's the story of a young boy, with no family, who's pain would develop into a monster within him, creating the Dark Lord.

Here's the thing about time traveling: it was risky. One wrong move, one wrong act, one wrong reaction, and all was lost.

Just an one shot idea that came to me while on tik tok today. The painfull truth is: we know little to nothing about Merope and Tom Riddle Jr and how Tom truly felt about them so... I made Harry go back in time (blah, blah, blah, you know the drill) and tell him about the resurrection stone in his ring. Because I love making intense scenarios with the characters' dead parents. (That's a spoiler for a future work that will involve time travel, after 'My sin, my soul' ends ;)

Tom meets Merope. Merope takes Tom. Tom runs away and meets Arlene. Arlene and Tom make Emily Riddle. Emily Riddle is a witch, a muggleborn one at that. This is the last thing Tom Marvolo Riddle needs.

Part 2 of the series. After Christmas break Y/N and Sirius thought it would be a good idea to tell the Marauders that they were dating. Ariana Dumbledore and Merope Gaunt, were similar, in that both had traumatizing childhoods and oppressed magic. One was raised with love, the other raised with hate. Yet both young witches have their own story. Stories only alluded to, yet never given clarity. What were the mysterious acts that occurred during their childhood, that will be left a mystery? There is one thing that has occurred, and that is, both girls, so rare in nature, may be cases of an Obscurus. ------- This fanfiction will have my own take on these two characters from the Harry Potter universe. I will try to keep the information as cannon based as possible. I hope to expand upon the worlds given so little detail, including the Dumbledore's family relationships and story. Note: with the new fantastic beasts franchise, some of Dumbledore's history has been given. However the release of new plot and backgrounds will only be referenced to as nothing is certain. This is purely a fanfiction of my own theories put into a story.
