Starting at the beginning of Season 4, Lancelot and Merlin manage to close the rift without a sacrifice. With Arthur curious about magic, Merlin finds himself revealing his talents to the most trusted of the knights and to the prince. Together they decide that they will bring magic back to Camelot when Arthur becomes king. Also, a funny Merlin meme in every chapter. For no reason, just cause I liked them. And I don't own Merlin, obviously. Just the story.

"Please welcome, the Knights of Cenred!" Another bunch of knights... another shitty kingdom... so many dishes later... Arthur was making peace with all the kingdoms of the land. And everyone was meeting in Camelot. "Welcome, the Knights of Storno!" My head snapped up. Arthur looked just as surprised. The beautiful blue capes, the majestic horses, the royal seal... Storno... They're still alive. Prince Otho bowed, as everyone else had. The knights bowed, as everyone else had. They took their place beside Cenred's men. Everyone was staring. Arthur Pendragon. Son of Uther Pendragon, wealthy muggle CEO of one of the world's largest investment firms. His mother Ygraine Pendragon passed away when he was little. Oh. He's also a wizard. He also hears tell of a spirit. Not like the ghosts at the school, but more like what you hear in muggle ghost stories. the lost spirit of a man, who wanders the forbidden forest, before going to the lake and sobbing. Arthur has returned and Merlin is overjoyed, but Arthur has no idea how to live in the 21st century. Merlin must teach the man to live again and they discover secrets along the way. a little collection of adventures Arthur and Merlin find as Arthur learns about the new world. they are technically oneshots, but they mostly connect in a story line. does that make sense?

Arthur thought that his Soulpoetry, an "of the same coin" scrawl on the base of his fingers, referred to the fact that he led a very dull Pendragon life. When both Gwen and Merlin witness another accident caused by Morgana's magic, there is no more denying. Despite Gaius' strong advice against it, Merlin decides to help Morgana and tell her and Gwen about his magic. Meanwhile, Arthur follows Merlin to Morgana's chambers to inform him that he needs to let her rest and should absolutely not be bringing her flowers. Because she needs to rest. No other reason of course. Nope. Set in the episode 2x03 The Nightmare Begins.

The king feels no guilt when he enters the couple's home, killing both Balinor and Hunith as they try desperately to protect their son. But, instead of having the child meet the same fate Uther decides to keep the young dragonlord as a form of token. A spoil of war. So, once he returns he locks the boy away somewhere deep in Camelot's dungeons. Merlin remains there for years, alone and afraid until one day a young prince finds him.

Arthur finds out about Merlin's magic. He doesn't punish him for it though. (no copyright infringement intended. Each right to their own. I do not own any of the characters.)

Merlin lays his life on the line to save Arthur yet again, only this time there are witnesses, lots of them. Only Arthur prevents him going to the headman's axe straight away, but Arthur alone cannot save him. That is up to both of them. The love story of Prince Arthur Pendragon of Camelot and Merlyn, the greatest sorceress to ever walk the earth.

Aithusa's very excited when she learns her first words, but it only causes problems when she follows Merlin back to Camelot to share her talents with him. Especially when she won't stop flying and shouting new words that she has learned from Merlin - and when Arthur happens to witness all of it right when he wanted to get some rest after training. While on a camping trip, Merlin was obviously exhausted as he'd been acting strange all day. As he falls asleep, Gwaine finds a small leather bound journal hidden away in the servants coat, which he soon learns is a journal. He reads a few to himself, then to the Knights.
