A series of oneshots for #MerlinMemoryMonth on tumblr, which is a prompt fest to remember and celebrate the british tv show Merlin (BBC). Prompt Days are every Thursday and Sunday, so you can expect a new chapter then, starting Thursday May 2nd.

"Fetch the mattress from my quarters and bring it up here," Arthur commanded. Merlin doubted that that was even possible. "How am I supposed to carry a mattress on my own?" "I don't know, strap it to your back." But what was he supposed to do when Arthur gave the order? This is a fic about how Merlin actually did manage to carry the mattress all the way from Arthur's chambers to Gwen's house on his own, although at a great cost. (He was exhausted afterwards.) Although, maybe when he's so tired, Arthur will allow him to stay at Gwen's and share the mattress? (It was rather enormous for just one person, wasn't it?) Set in the episode 2x02 The Once and Future Queen.

Cedric never stood a chance against Merlin and Arthur. Not when they are literally two sides of the same coin, bound by destiny, and especially not when they're secretly dating and trust each other with everything. Or-Cedric doesn't notice Merlin in Arthur's bed when he goes to steal Arthur's keys in the middle of the night, and that's his undoing. So no. He never stood a chance. Set in the episode 2x01 The Curse of Cornelius Sigan.

Merlin and Arthur are their usual sarcastic selves, and with a little help from Gwaine and Leon, learn about feelings for each other that they didn't know they had. Merlin manages to break Sophia's enchantment on Arthur first through friendship, and then through love. As a result, Arthur remembers more than Merlin expected. Meanwhile, Morgana isn't stupid. When she sees Merlin running after Arthur, she realizes that he's the person Gaius went to find-someone who can help. Someone with magic. Set in the episode 1x07 The Gates of Avalon. Merthur.

On their journey to save Gwen from Hengist, Arthur slowly realizes that he not only has feelings for Gwen, he also has feelings for Merlin. And all it takes to finally act on them is Merlin falling from the tower and almost dying. Set in the episode 2x04 Lancelot and Guinevere.

While Merlin says goodbye to unconscious Arthur and confesses his love for him, Arthur can hear him. He knows that Merlin is planning to sacrifice his life for him, but he can't do anything to stop him. "I love you," Arthur tells Merlin before drinking the poison to break Anhora's curse and falling to the ground. He doesn't know that it's not poison but merely a sleeping draught. It's Arthur's first Christmas after coming back from Avalon, and he's finally found the best gift for Merlin. The gift is so perfect that it might just make Merlin cry. (Or: Arthur finds photos of Château de Pierrefonds online, prints one and gives it to Merlin, who's already forgotten what Camelot used to look like because of his long life.)

After the almost-hug in 2x06, Merlin is determined to find out why exactly Arthur avoids touching him. Is it because of him? Or is it just Arthur being a prat? Just two best buds, traveling together, nothing is going on between them....at all. Is there something going on between them or is it just the brotherly love of two chummy buddies? Why do you care so much? The boy is just a servant. What if Arthur was the one to kiss Merlin instead of Gwen in 1x04 The Poisoned Chalice? After returning from the journey to retrieve the Mortaeus flower, then watching Merlin almost die and kissing him, Arthur is arrested for disobeying his father's orders to stay in Camelot. At least he has some time alone to think about why exactly he kissed Merlin. Merlin, on the other hand, can think about the same thing from the comfort of his home. When Arthur is released from prison, they both need to talk.

Merlin is distressed after he had to kill Edwin, and now Arthur is there for him. First kiss fic. Set in the episode 1x06 A Remedy to Cure All Ills

Arthur and Morgana overhear Merlin's conversation with his mother, and after magic is used in the fight, they both realize that Merlin is a sorcerer. Despite not really wanting to, Arthur decides that Merlin should stay in Ealdor. Now it's Morgana's job to kick Arthur back to Ealdor to get their friend back. But that is not the only reason Arthur wants Merlin to stay with him. Set in the episode 1x10 The Moment of Truth.
