Barry was sent to live with a close family friend named Joe West and his daughter, Iris, who he's madly in love with. He loves science with a passion, which draws him to watch the unveiling of the Particle Accelerator in Central City, his hometown. But when the Particle Accelerator goes awry and explodes, it strikes Barry with a bolt of lightning from the explosion that was so powerful, it put him in a coma for 9 months. When he wakes up, he finds out that he has something that no one else has: super speed. He's one of a kind. Or is he? What if he wasn't the only one struck by lightning from the explosion and put in a coma? What if this other person woke up with superpowers, but more than just super speed? With more powers than ever thought possible? And what if this other person falls for the adorable geek Barry Allen while fighting crime side by side?
