"I thought the devil had horns," the woman said, her voice low but steady. "Turns out, he wears a suit and tie and has neatly combed hair... He's nice. Polite." She stared at the man across from her, unflinching. "Are you referring to me, Ms. Nielsen?" he asked with a glint of amusement in his eyes. There was something too eager in the way he leaned forward, as if thrilled someone had finally glimpsed the cracks in his carefully polished mask. "What if I am?" she replied coolly, unaware of the storm she had just invited in. His smile widened; it was wicked, hungry, and delighted. "That's not a very nice thing to say," he said, chuckling. "I do have horns." He tapped his temple lightly, as if they were just beneath the surface, waiting. The game had begun, and he was already savoring every move. However, he was the last to realize-she'd played this game before. And she always won.

The weak fear the break. The survivors want the anatomy. _________ A ten-step mapping of internal collapse. It traces the precise geometry of a self-destruction-from the first snapped choice to the blackened imprint left behind. This is what remains when the ego finally consumes itself. #darkpoetry

When Chief Bogo, the Mayor, and other powerful figures suddenly fall ill, the city's balance shifts overnight. A provisional captain takes control of the ZPD, and a new mayor resurrects a buried chapter of Zootopia's history: a past epidemic blamed on birds, followed by their forced exile under a fragile agreement. As fear spreads and old prejudices resurface, Judy and Nick suspect the illness isn't an accident. Against orders and under the radar, they pursue a lead only Nick can access: someone with ties to the birds. What begins as a quiet investigation turns into a storm of power, lies, and a past determined to repeat itself.

In this visceral, first‑person tale, the narrator finds themselves in a world being slowly consumed by an insidious rot. Everything it touches sickens and crumbles, and no explanation is given for its origin. Amid this creeping decay, a mysterious woman arrives, determined to confront the spreading blight and push back the darkness. Their journey together is both harrowing and strangely beautiful, filled with haunting imagery and unexpected moments of tenderness. The narrative explores despair and resilience while hinting at deeper emotional undercurrents, leaving the true meaning of the rot-and what drives the woman to fight it-unrevealed until the story's final pages.

Dear Reader, I'm usually inspired to write poetry when I'm in some of the darkest of places, but he thematic elements of the poems may vary. You might find that some works are pessimistic, while others carry a hopeful undertone. However you decide to interpret my figurative language, I want you to take away from it something hopeful. Sometimes things suck, sometimes they don't. Sometimes we're happy, sometimes we're not. Sometimes we just need to stick along for the ride and see where it leads us. The ride is worth it. Stay Awesome, Spade
