Not all feelings are pleasant. If you are feeling deeply sad or hurt, it's ok. Sit with yourself and create the space to listen to your feelings, with love. I have spent my entire life repressing emotions because people around me didn't understand how emotions work. Sadly, for most humans, who live in a materialistic World, emotions are not that important. In reality, however, humans are extremely emotional. Actually, everything we do in life is to 'feel' good and happy. So, you need to respect your own emotions and those of your friends and family. You can never experience the richness of life if all you do is spend your entire life using logic to solve all your problems. You need to feel life deeply, not just think about it.

This is a new series I will be writing. As a Harry Potter and theology nerd, I thought "why not combine the two?" I will be publishing short essays on various theological aspect and themes that compel me in the Harry Potter series. For my first installment in this series, I am focusing on the idea of "personhood" as portrayed in Harry Potter, especially as the idea is contrasted between Harry and Voldemort. This uses an analogy of the song, "Row, Row, Row your Boat." The analogy is between the whimsical and the metaphysical POV. The inspiration for the poem came as I was watching a movie about Star Trek 5: The Final Frontier (watch attacked video) where Kirk, Bones, and Spock are singing the round, Row, Row, Row your Boat. Spock being the logical one says to the Captain, "Life is not a dream."
