Following a meteor crash in a destitute town in Northern California, a nine-year old girl starts exhibiting strange behavior, such as speaking Ancient Egyptian and solving advanced Math problems. Her story is told by Rick Sarpaulis, her Math teacher, in the form of ten diary entries which also chronicle Rick's battle with depression and his tempestuous relationship with a local girl named Audrey. We all lost somebody. In a new, apocalyptic world, huge rain clouds of infecting pollen come pouring down from the heavens, plunging people into the Void Sleep. In this dangerous, uncertain terrain, life struggles through. People are forced to hide out in the old abandoned buildings of the past, evading bandits, wild animals, and of course, the Void Showers. Harley, Leon and Grace are one of these groups. Forced to salvage scraps of a better time, they live in fear that one day, they'll make a mistake that cannot be taken back.
