Some thought it would end when Trump tried to be President. Some thought it would end with the third World War. They were all wrong. The world ended on my sixteenth birthday.

"Let him go," Steven said angrily. "Or what? You'll run back to your mommies and daddies and complain to them?" Trevor said mockingly. "Let. Him. Go." Steven repeated furiously, "Let him go or else we'll-" Suddenly the ground beneath him swerved and Jake stumbled forward, catching himself at the last second. He leaned on the wall to steady himself, feeling dizzy. It was like being on a boat in the middle of a raging storm. He couldn't keep his balance, as the ship rocked side to side. After a few seconds, the ship stopped swerving and returned back to normal. "What's happening?" Angela said, terrified. "I don't know," Steven said, "We have to get out of here-" "This is a code red," A voice suddenly said from a nearby speaker on the wall, "I repeat, code red. A meteor shower has hit the ship. Everyone, go to the nearest-" The announcement was suddenly cut off as a rock as small as a penny shot through the ship ten meters away from them. There was a pop in Jake's ears, and he put his hands to his ears, wincing. What was that? The hole that the meteor left was hot and was still smoking red. Jake knew, from a map he'd looked at a few days earlier, that they were not near the outside of the ship. If a meteor that small could cut through layers of titanium and other metals with no problem... Another meteor cut through the wall about twenty meters away. "We have to get out of here!" Jake yelled.
