How do you feel about the future? Do you think humanity as a whole, has one? There is a new psychological condition spreading over the populace called eco-anxiety. It is a fairly recent psychological disorder afflicting an increasing number of individuals who worry about the environmental crisis. It's an understandable reaction to ones growing awareness of climate change and the global problems that result from damage to the ecosystem. When the media's messiah on climate change Greta Thunberg rather conceitedly said 'how dare you, you have ruined my childhood' to those simple enough to listen, I wondered what was her state of affairs; a well off family, in a comfortable, stable household, and probably never for want of a good meal, hot bath or needful things. Then I thought of my childhood with the threat of nuclear war hanging over the heads of all of humanity like the sword of Damocles. And my father's time in the Second World War and his father's time when a Flu pandemic was sweeping the planet causing the death of millions. You see, life has no guarantees, no 'set in stone' receipts for a good, healthy, happy life. So don't spend your time fretting, worrying or losing sleep, over climate change, enjoy your life, be happy and remember, there are a million and one things that MIGHT happen to you along the way but, that is life! eco-anxiety? You don't know your alive!!

The words Climate Change have entered our vocabulary with hurricane force. It's difficult to pick up a newspaper, view the evening news, or read more than a few minutes on social networks, or the web without encountering these words. But what do they mean? Is climate really changing? How is it changing? Hasn't it always changed? Didn't we just recover from an ice age that ended only ten thousand years ago; and, didn't Europe just recover from a mini ice age that ended only a few centuries ago? So, what does climate change really mean? Does any one know? If these questions interest you, then please read on, as I try to shed some light on this complex, socio-political issue.

The global program and project organization MethanStorage.org was launched by Greening Deserts founder in the summer. The potential danger of exceeding tipping points as well as possible and innovative solutions to reduce methane emissions in relation with permafrost problems and forest fires were recognized in time. In the run-up the WetForest project for wetlands was founded, including the sub-project MoorForest, which aims to establish more wet forests and forested peatlands, marshlands or moorlands that could significantly reduce global methane emissions from wetlands. This is because shading grasses, shrubs and trees in wetlands keeps them cooler and cools them noticeably during droughts or heat waves. Logically, this reduces methane emissions, and climate-resilient plants and drought-tolerant trees also help protect wetlands as global warming increases. The plants in wetlands are usually better adapted to extreme weather events anyway. It would be great if German as well as European experts for wetlands, peatlands and marshlands join our projects like SwampForest or MoorForest.org.
