Metis Stories

This is a story of a Greek Goddess named Athena. Athena was the daughter of King Zeus and his wife named Metis.

"I am no mortal nor nymph, but a god." She spoke with seriousness in her voice, leaving out the details that she is the Roman equivalent of Athena in her world. As the ROM Youth Cabinet, we completed our Wattpad writings with the support of Indigenous community members: Embodied Storyteller Monique Mojica; Artistic Director of Chocolate Woman Collective from the Kuna and Rappahannock Nations, Anishinaabeg Knowledge Keeper/Storyteller Ernie Sandy; and with editing support from Cree/Metis Writer Tyler Pennock. We had multiple writing sessions and experiences to assist in sparking our imagination during their project, including a writing retreat on the land at Colborne Lodge in High Park. Our writings were inspired by objects in the Royal Ontario Museum's Indigenous collections, as well as our experiences in the First Peoples Gallery and with the Youth Cabinet. The stories and poems are read by Youth Cabinet members. We hope you enjoy!

Not all werewolves are human. They are not all tall and built like weightlifters or athletes. The same is true with other creatures. So many like to stereotype or think they all have the same looks. Then there are small rural places hidden away with misfits that everyone would tell you do not exist. The village of Lupine Canyon is one such village. They have had an OK life and coexist with each other for mutual protection. There are many skilled townsfolk here. Their crafts are in high demand as items in large cities. Only a few brave and trusted traders are allowed even close to the village for trade. This has been the only way for as long as some can remember. All is about to change, though, with the breakout of a great war, where everyone will be forced to pick a side.

In the multi-verse, there's 5 celestials dedicated to fighting off evil from every universe. Lancer, with his four personalities, each with their own looks and life - Sol, he has white eyes and is the chillest one out of the four, Apollo, who has yellow eyes and is the most protective of the other members, Ra, she's the only female of Lancer's personalities,has blue eyes and is the scariest of them all, and Helios, who has red eyes and is the leader of everyone. There's also Comet, she's the fastest and smallest of the Shadow Assassin's, Nes, he has the power to melt into shadow's, even taking others with him, Gangster, who's the smartest in the entire multiverse, and Phoenix, who's the most powerful, in offensive, then the other four - technically eight. After many eons of protecting the multiverse, they settle down for a few billion years. This is the story of them, and their adventures...

A danger so powerful and ancient even the gods no longer remembered it. But now the next great prophecy has been spoken and its time to shed light on old memories, uncover the secrets of the past, and expose the traitors among them. Now more than ever before, the gods must push aside their differences to unite against the two biggest threats they've ever faced. If they can't unite to protect their home they may soon be fighting for more than that....their lives.
