Avery and Nikki later moved in with their grandparents after theit mother abandoned them. Avery and Nikki relocated several times while living with their grandparents. While Nikki Sixx band Mötley Crüe became popular His sister Avery Sixx was also becoming popular while Nikki was 22 Avery was 18 and was starting her acting career. The first movie she ever stared in was Lookin' to Get Out the movie is about, Two New York losers (Jon Voight, Burt Young) flee from hoodlums to Las Vegas, where they scheme to break a casino bank. (Pretend that angelina jolie was 18 when that was filmed thank you) Avery sixx and her brother were pretty close but in 1981 when Nikki's band became popular and Avery acting career development they drifted apart. After a 3 years, 1984 her and some of her friends started a band called hot shots. She was one of the lead singers while her friend Jaylynn was the other one. They became popular fast since Avery sixx was already well known from her acting career.
