Rules, sequences and numbers never came easily, but across a small makeshift table under a bright, flickering light. Mark delt a simple game of War and offered all the time in the world. A Twilight Zone inspired short story about grief, endless patience and a game that never has to end.

Arthur lives by a single rule: a clean floor keeps an orderly mind. But when a meticulous sweep reveals that dust bunnies under his bed are arranging themselves into geometric patterns made of his lifelong lost possessions, he discovers the horrifying truth. Step inside Circus Circus, a neon drenched fever dream where the year 1999 stretched on forever in an eternal loop of artificial twilight. The air hung heavy with electric perfume of hot circuit boards, ozone and spilled cherry red soda that it baked into the threadbare carpets for decades. Overhead. Violent tubes of magenta and electric blue hissed and buzzed, casting long, bruised shadows across a labyrinth of dormant cabinets. Here, time didn't March forward. It stood in a perpetual standstill. And for Milo, standing alone in the humid dark before a nameless machine, the quarter was about to cost more than just a quarter.

Lesha is the cake artist at a divorce ceremony where a clash of cultures results in disaster. The world is flat (2018) "The world is flat." Granddad says this all the time. So we buy tickets to space. Some kind of trout (2018) The alien fish was minding her own business when a fissure opened in the ice above her, and she was sucked unceremoniously upward. Before the Eagle: A Tale of Prometheus (2017) "You would betray the king of the gods!?" "Oh yes," Prometheus replied, "That's who I am, you see. I'm a traitor. It's what I do!" Empty Nest (2016) A semi-biographical tribute to memory and place. Skink (2017) A sentence or two about a lizard. The Planet Eater (2015) The Planet Eater swung around the yellow star and closed in on his prey. An asteroid bounced off his long, worm-like body as he swept into the inner system.

A set of sci-fi shorts/ microfiction set over a decade aboard a dying colony-ship told through correspondence, archives, and a shifting narrative. Seemingly alone, a newly-woken crew-member struggles to piece together the events that led her here.

These are some short-stories of 350 words, which won't relate to each other.
