Before Erebor fell, King Thráin II welcomed one final child into the world. She was unlike any dwarf ever born. Her mother was none other than Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of love, music, beauty, joy, and motherhood. Hathor loved Thráin during one brief journey between worlds, and their daughter inherited both dwarven stubbornness and divine grace. When the child is barely twenty-five-a babe by dwarven standards-Hathor arrives. "The time has come. She belongs with me now." She leaves Erebor only months before Smaug descends. She returns decades later expecting home. Instead... ...she finds thirteen homeless dwarves crammed into a hobbit's comfortable little hole. And one very grumpy older brother who cannot decide whether to hug her or lecture her.

"When Aslan bears his teeth winter meets its end. When he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again." Many years had passed since she had last seen Narnia, and not a day went by that Lucy Pevensie didn't think about it. She longed to return to the land of magic that she practically grew up in, but she also knew that she never could. Why? Simple, she had grown up. No longer was she the little girl who had discovered the winter wood in the wardrobe, or became Queen in Cair Paravel. Now, she was an adult. A young adult, studying to become a woman in a world that thought she should be seen, not heard. Despite her longing, the youngest Pevensie had resigned herself to her fate. That is, until a certain professor of hers offers a chance she'd been waiting for. One, that she never believed could still exist. On a quest to take back a home once lost, she finds she has a purpose once again. And that may not be all she finds either.... (Takes place in the movie universe, a few years after the Voyage of the Dawn Treader)

"Is that a challenge?" Harriet Potter-Durin has survived basilisk, Dementors, Death Eaters, Horcruxes, dragons, death, resurrection, and one very moldy Dark Lord. So when Fíli and Thorin tell her she'll be safe in the Blue Mountains while they reclaim Erebor, she has one answer: "Orders are suggestions delivered with unnecessary confidence." Fresh from Hogwarts and the war, Harriet should be grateful. Instead, she has Lily Evans's temper, James Potter's flair, Sirius Black's rebellion, and a family habit of chasing danger for love. And Fíli is not just someone she loves. He is her husband. Her One. She will not be the wife who waits. Only Dís knows her secret: Harriet is an Animagus. A snow leopard. After promising Dís the Company will return, she follows them across Middle-earth in secret. To Thorin's Company, she is an enigma: a skin-changer with green eyes who appears in danger, steals food, argues in feline theatrics, performs wandless magic, terrorizes Kíli, defies Thorin, and occasionally smacks Fíli for complaining about his "stubborn wife." Fíli thinks she'd like Harriet. He's right. But Harriet knows war better than they do. She refuses to lose another family. The Quest for Erebor will be deadly. Smaug will rise, armies will march, Ravenhill will bleed, and Azog will hunt Durin's line. But fate forgot one thing: Harriet Potter-Durin does not care about canon. Thorin will come home. Kíli will come home. And if death comes for Fíli- it will face a very angry snow leopard.

Before the dragon came. Before Erebor fell. Before the line of Durin became a people without a kingdom... Thorin Oakenshield had a wife. Brynhild, daughter of a proud dwarven house and beloved wife of the heir of Durin, was torn from Middle-earth by the gods of Olympus. Chosen by an ancient prophecy, she was forced to watch from afar as her home burned, her people scattered, and the one she loved carried the weight of a broken kingdom. For nearly a century, the gods allowed her only one mercy-to see her family for a single moment each month, never able to speak, never able to return. When the prophecy is finally fulfilled after two great wars, Brynhild is sent back to Middle-earth. Her first destination? A cozy hobbit-hole called Bag End. There, she finds Thorin's Company gathered once more, preparing for a quest that could reclaim Erebor... but Thorin himself is away in the Iron Hills, unaware that the wife he mourned long ago is finally home. As old wounds heal and a kingdom's hope is rekindled, Brynhild joins the Company on the greatest adventure of their lives. Together, they will face trolls, goblins, elves, dragons, and destiny itself. Because sometimes... The greatest treasure waiting inside the Lonely Mountain isn't gold. It's the family you thought was lost forever.

There are guardians even in Middle-earth, though no song or scroll names them. The Hanu walk unseen-keepers of chaos and order, bound by oaths older than the Valar themselves. Their shield is secrecy; their duty, eternal. Few know their presence. Fewer still understand their burden. As the Fellowship gathers and the Shadow grows, another story moves quietly alongside. The Guardian of Balance does not stand in councils nor lead in battle-but walks the spaces in between, where choice and consequence bend unseen. Yet even in the quiet between great deeds, lives are changed in ways no history ever records. Bonds form. Paths entwine. And what begins as a journey beside the great tale becomes something far more personal-shaped as much by connection as by fate. This is a tale of parallel paths: a hidden watcher bound to Middle-earth, whose silent influence brushes against the great journey, though her name will never be written in the Red Book. 📌 A crossover of Tolkien's legendarium and the Hanu Chronicles-not a retelling, but a parallel myth unfolding in the quiet between great deeds. ✧ Slow burn | Found family | Character-driven | Canon-adjacent | Romance
