Julie and Raymond are an interracial couple in high school but that doesn't matter to them. They are inseparable. But, with Julie growing up in a racist family, getting to see each other in person is difficult. (Written for the Midnight Sun Movie Contest)

The circus comes along for one week in the year. Kenna Branca had always wanted to see the circus, but never had time. This year would be the year she would finally see the circus.

What would you do if you learned that you only had a year left to live? That all those things you took for granted all of a sudden had a limit, that they had a physical number to them now and you could watch them tick away. After I learned what my life would be like, I counted those small things. I treasured them more than anything in the world and I vowed that everything I did would have a purpose. And that is why, tonight is my final night to make those moments count.
